Michael Jordan To Stephen Curry: “I Hate Losing. But I Do Respect Losing, Because Losing Is Part Of Winning”

A lot of NBA players and NBA legends love to play golf as their secondary sport. Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Shaq, Ray Allen, Stephen Curry to name a few. JR Smith even switched careers this year to play golf and is now a member of the N.C. A&T golf team.

Stephen Curry sat down with Michael Jordan at the 2021 Ryder Cup to talk about golf. The ‘best shooter of all time’ recently talked with the ‘the greatest of all time’. The two sat down together to talk about golf (2021 Ryder Cup) and the similarities between golf and basketball.

In a part of the video uploaded on Stephen Curry’s YouTube Channel. the two discussed how do they feel when they lose.

Steph Curry“Losing is just the worst feeling in life, at anything. Cards. Golf. Basketball. Whatever it is.”

Michael Jordan“I hate losing. I mean, it’s not even a question. But I do respect losing, because losing is a part of winning. You’re never going to just win. You’ve got to lose to win.”

Curry’s first three years on the league didn’t produce anything. His team didn’t make the playoffs on those years. After years of losing, Curry became a champion after six years and won three championships in span of four years from 2015-2018.

Curry has a 3-2 record in the NBA Finals, losing a very painful 2016 championship to the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers after being up 3-1 in the series. His second loss came from the hands of Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors.

Meanwhile, Jordan has a perfect 6-0 record in the NBA Finals. He didn’t lose when it mattered the most. But even with a successful NBA career and a perfect record in the NBA Finals, Jordan also experienced how to lose in the early years of his career.

The Chicago Bulls legend didn’t get pass the first round of the playoffs through first three years of his NBA career. He didn’t even make the NBA Finals until his seventh year on the league. Jordan and the Bulls even lost to Shaquille O’Neal and the Orlando Magic in the 1995 Eastern Conference Semifinals.
