Scottie Pippen made a huge accusation against his former teammate Michael Jordan. The six-time NBA champion revealed that Jordan used ‘The Last Dance’ to outshine LeBron James.
Over the past two years, Pippen has made it clear that he doesn’t appreciate the way he was portrayed in the documentary series. Since the documentary titled was released, Pippen’s relationship to Jordan deteriorated.
“They glorified Michael Jordan while not giving nearly enough praise to me and my proud teammates,” Pippen says in the book.
Excerpt via GQ:
“My years in Chicago, beginning as a rookie in the fall of 1987, were the most rewarding of my career: twelve men coming together as one, fulfilling the dreams we had as kids in playgrounds across the land when all we needed was a ball, a basket, and our imagination. To be a member of the Bulls during the 1990s was to be part of something magical. For our times and for all time.”
Except Michael Jordan was determined to prove to the current generation of fans that he was larger-than-life during his day—and still larger than LeBron James, the player many consider his equal, if not superior. So Michael presented his story, not the story of the “Last Dance,” claimed Pippen.”
Pippen was claiming that Jordan used the documentary to show that he was still larger than LeBron James
It can be remembered that numerous reports said Michael Jordan has agreed to release 1997-98 Bulls footage during 2016 Cavaliers championship parade. It was the time where the James and his Cavaliers won a historic championship after being down 3-1 against the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.
James and Jordan were two of the greatest NBA players of all time with many considering the latter as the GOAT.
Pippen’s memoir titled ‘Unguarded‘ is set for release on November 9.
