The Los Angeles Lakers are trading two-time NBA champion and four-time NBA All-Star Rajon Rondo to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Denzel Valentine.
The Cavaliers are in need of a back up point guard after Ricky Rubio went down due to an injury and will be out for the remained of the season. The Cavaliers also lost Collin Sexton earlier this year.
Rondo just played 18 games with the Lakers this season averaging 3.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists. Rondo won a championship with the Lakers in 2020 in NBA bubble in Orlando.
Valentine will be waived by the Lakers to clear an open roster spot.
