The Portland Trail Blazers were reportedly expected to shop the third overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft to help Damian Lillard. The Blazers moved up two spots in the lottery to get the No. 3 pick in the 2023 draft
The pick was expected to be either Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller with Victor Wembanyama expected to be the consensus first overall pick.
Lillard however made it clear that he has no interest in adding another young player. He even blasted Blazers fans on Twitter that want Portland to trade him and make a full rebuild.
“If the fans wana trade me … start the petition and send it in” the seven-time NBA All-Star tweeted.
The Blazers have a young core of Anfernee Simons and Shaedon Sharpe and they own the 3rd and 23rd picks this coming NBA draft. They could even flip Lillard to a contender for multiple first-round picks should they went into a full rebuild.
Should the Blazers rebuild around their young players or should they build the roster around Lillard? What do you think?
