Kenyon Martin recently appeared in an episode of Gilbert Arenas’ podcast “No Chill Gil”.
During the episode, the former NBA All-Star talked with ‘Agent Zero’ asked about numerous topics such as ‘The Malice in the Palace’, guarding Kobe, Shaq and Tim Duncan, if he could play in today’s era and who could play on his era.
Martin said that Stephen Curry could actually be successful in every single era.
“I think Steph Curry can play in any era. Like just small stature, but guys have come before him that were small in stature that got it done,” Martin said.
“I think the way he plays because people look at him just to shoot, but he plays the game the right way. He plays the game the right way, like moves, passes it when they need to pass, shoots it when you need to. So I love watching him play – the way he plays the game,” the former no. one overall pick added.
Martin played against Curry during the dawn of his career. He even witnessed Curry’s first MVP season and Golden State Warrior’s 2015 championship run during his last season in the NBA.
Curry changed how the game is played today. He’s the biggest reason why the game is fast-paced now and why teams were shooting 30 plus three-point attempts per game.
Do you agree that Curry could play in any era? How do you see him playing in Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan’s era?
