In a recent interview with Basketball News, Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas explained how important Kyrie Irving is for the Brooklyn Nets.
“The LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavs that came back and beat the Golden State Warriors after they had a 73-9 season — and LeBron James was off the charts in every statistical category — but the Cleveland Cavs do not win the championship without Kyrie Irving on that team,” Thomas said.
“Put me down on record. The Nets with the team constructed the way it currently is, cannot, and will not, win the championship if he is not there. Period.” the NBA legend added.

Kyrie Irving’s teammate Kevin Durant responded on Isiah Thomas comments with one word.
“Facts”, KD’s comment on ESPN’s post on Instagram.
The Nets failed to advance in Eastern Conference Finals in the 2021 playoffs as Kyrie Irving went down due to an injury in game 4 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup against the eventual champions Milwaukee Bucks.
The Nets were leading 2-1 in the series even without James harden until Irving landed his ankle on Giannis Antetokounmpo after making a tough shot.
KD willed the Nets into a game 7 matchup against the Bucks but fell short in overtime. The Nets will try to get the championship in the 2021-22 NBA season. With a healthy big three and the consistent production from Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge and Joe Harris plus addition of Patty Mills, the Nets will have a very good chance of winning the championship.
