Kevin Durant Says He Hasn’t Overcome His Toe-On-The-Line Shot Against Milwaukee Bucks

The Brooklyn Nets were one of the most unfortunate teams last season, dealing with injuries when it mattered the most. The Nets lost James Harden early in their series against the Milwaukee Bucks but the team still went on a 2-0 lead against Giannis Antetokoumpo-led team.

But the Nets had dealt another big loss in the series as Kyrie Irving went down with an ankle injury in game 4.

James Harden came back to the series and help Kevin Durant put the series into a game seven. During the final three games of the series, Durant has been brilliant putting a 50-point triple-double in game five that put the Nets leading the series, 3-2. Durant the had a good 32-point outing in game 6 loss in Milwaukee but it was in game seven when he almost single-handedly willed his team to a series win.

Durant played all 53 minutes and almost win the game for the Nets with a pull-up jump shot that looked like a three-point attempt. Unfortunately for KD and the Nets, KD caught stepping on the three-point line and they instead settled with an overtime.

The Nets went to lose the game, 115-111, and that ended their campaign last year.

On his recent interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews, Durant talked about losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in the playoffs and his game-tying jump shot that could’ve win the series for the Nets had he not caught stepping on the three-point line.

He revealed he’s not over his toe-on-the-line shot against PJ Tucker in the win-or-go-home game seven.

“Oh yeah, I do,” Durant told Malika Andrews. “Definitely wish I was behind the line, but you know it is what it is. There’s a great great series, a fun series to be a part of. And felt like a championship level series because they went on to win the title.”

The Nets were the favorites to win-it-all last year. Unfortunately, the team didn’t stayed healthy throughout the playoffs. Now, the team will have a fresh campaign this year and are considered one of the favorites to bring home the Larry O’Brien trophy this season.
